The ScotDance Canada Championship Series (SDCCS) is the premier Highland Dancing event in Canada with anywhere from 800 to 1200 dancers, together with their families and dance teachers, attending each year. The SDCCS is held in different Canadian cities each year. Calgary hosted SDCCS (previously known as the Canadian Interprovincials) in 1980, 1994, 2006, and is proud to host the series in 2018 from June 29 to July 4.

The series features the Canadian Highland Dancing Championships and the ScotDance Canada Open Championships. Events also include Pre-Premier competitions, Premier and Restricted Premier competitions, Pre-Championship, choreography, and special events.

Situated at the confluence of the Bow and Elbow rivers and the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, the City of Calgary is youthful and spirited. All dance competitions will be held at the Telus Convention Centre, situated in downtown Calgary. An added feature to this location is the availability of other activities close by such as the Calgary Zoo, Fort Calgary, and The Calgary Tower.

Don’t have a car? The Calgary CTrain (Light Rapid Transit) is located in front of the Convention Centre allowing easy access to these and many other activities throughout the city. Some great social activities are also planned! Want to stay longer and venture further? Canmore, Banff National Park, and many other amazing locations are only a one to two hour drive from the venue.
