SDCCS2018 needs you!










SDCCS2018 would love to have you volunteer and be part of the largest highland dance event in North America! There are lots of spots available for several things from walking with dancers in the parade, to checking tags, registration Go SDCCS 2018 Volunteer Sign Up  and find something that you’d enjoy doing!

As a valued volunteer, you will receive a general admission pass on each day you volunteer a half-day or more.

Some examples of the great positions you can volunteer for!

Security: Say all to all attendees as you sit at the entrance into the competition checking people’s tags to make sure they have the correct tag for that day. You will still be able to see the dancing!
Registration: You will gather ScotDance cards and check off names and/or hand the dancer their gift bag and dancer package to all competing dancers.
Runner: Get your exercise and watch some of the dancing while you pick up the results from the judges table when they are done a category, and take the scores to the scrutineering room. You have the best seat in the house to watch the dancing in this role!
Scrutineering: This very important role will work in the office inputting all the results from the judges sheets. You would need to attend a seminar that will be held in Calgary for this position.
Stamping cards: Help with stamping any beginner to intermediate cards if they had won a 1st, 2nd or 3rd placing.
Opening ceremonies parade – Parade marshal: Walk with the dancers during the parade – waving to the crowd is allowed!
Opening ceremonies parade – Parade marshal/dancer supervisor: You will walk with the dancers during the parade and then sit with them during the opening ceremonies until parents pick them up. Guaranteed a great seat for the ceremonies!
Photography assistant: You will help the photographer with any of their needs. Examples could be laying out pictures, helping line up dancer groups for photos.
Photography lead: You will escort the dancers from the stage after their awards to the photography area to get their group picture and any individual pictures done
